We had everything that we wanted:
We were happy training in our local gym, it was an all-unicorns-and -rainbows environment , where we felt safe and things were easy. Only a fair level of frustration was experienced. This was known as the Promised Land for sports’ addicts. According to the Fitness religion traditions gyms are places built to honour and worship aerobic classes, bench press gym equipment, muscle growth, body-pump classes, chest fly, back row, biceps curls and self-narcissism.
Basically, we had all we ever needed to achieve the physical fitness and health level we desired, or what we believed we desired at that time …… until an evil friend who had been converted to an emerging religion movement in Europe called CrossFit, lead us to try the miraculous burpees’ brew we mentioned earlier.
Soaking t-shirts in Mordor:
Since our first CrossFit class nothing has been the same in our lives. We are subjected to hard-work, sweating, an empowering, body and mind transformation spell. We are trapped in Mordor’s land where there is an abundance of soaking t-shirts, kettlebell swings, rope climbs and death by burpees are among the 10 commandments.
We’ve discovered the pleasure of finishing a tough WOD, we are met with the frustration of learning cool gymnastics movements like the handstand walk (which takes such a long time), we are improving our body mobility and stability, we are tougher and we’ve realized the importance of social support to keep us motivated.
In conclusion, we are happier and stronger thanks to our fellow Crossfitter and this new fit-religion called CrossFit. It has become our mission and joy to share this happiness with Crossfitters from around the globe!
WELCOME TO WODbreaks!
